David Ross has a point.
Before leading the crowd in the seventh inning stretch, the former Cubs catcher shared some perspective.
“Let’s give it up for three great Octobers at Wrigley Field,” Ross yelled.
He has a point. This is the Cubs’ 36 post season game. The only team that come near that feat in the last three years are the Dodgers, who are playing in their 24th game.
Onto the bottom of the seventh, Clayton Kershaw was replaced with Kenta Maeda.
Kershaw’s final line: six innings pitched, three hits, one error, one walk and five strikeouts.
Willson Contreras led off for the Cubs and Maeda got him swinging.
Addison Russell flew out to centerfielder Chris Taylor.
With two out, Javy Baez couldn’t get much going either. He strikes out to end the inning.

Chris Taylor strikes again. For his fifth hit in the NLCS, Taylor hit a ground-rule double after his line drive to left field bounces into the stands.
Justin Turner hit a RBI single, sending Taylor home after he hit the ball into the gap between right and center field. Turner is 7-for-9 with runners in scoring position. Talk about delivering when it counts.
Cody Bellinger goes 2-for-2 hitting a single to the outfield.

Interesting Fact: That was the Dodgers fourth postseason grand slam. The last grand slam the Dodgers have hit in the postseason was actually also at Wrigley Field. James Loney hit one off of Ryan Dempster in 2008 NLDS Game 1.

Albert Almora will lead off and the left-handed hitting Kyle Schwarber will bat second for the Cubs against Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw in Game 5 of the NLCS Thursday night at Wrigley Field.
Switch-hitter Ben Zobrist is in right field, with the left-handed hitting Jason Heyward, the better defensive option of the two, on the bench.
Game time is an hour earlier, at 7:08 p.m., than Games 3 and 4 at Wrigley.
The Cubs defeated the Dodgers 3-2 in Game 4 to prevent a four-game Dodgers sweep, improving to 5-0 in elimination games since the beginning of the 2016 season. The Cubs need a win to send the series back to Los Angeles for a sixth game Saturday.
Left-hander Jose Quintana will oppose Kershaw, with lefty Jon Lester lined up for a possible Game 6. Lester said before Game 5 he is preparing to start that potential game and wasn’t expecting to pitch in relief in Game 5. Lester started Game 2 in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Since the League Championship Series expanded to seven games in 1985, the only team to overcome a 3-0 deficit was the 2004 Red Sox against the Yankees.
